A Doc, A Mock, “The Rock”

There’s an element of truth to my film reviews on Friday’s WAKE UP WITH WHOOPI. “The Rock” stars in a new football drama based on a documentary, I saw a real documentary about the late John Lennon that rocks and, from Britain, comes a mockumentary on weddings with lots of full frontal male nudity played for laughs.

So I guess I’ve got a doc, a mock, “The Rock” and some rocks to talk about. I’m scheduled to be on right after 7:3oam et. This weekend, I’ll be blogging a few comments about New Jersey’s ex-DownLow Governor, Jim McGreevey. Over the summer, in its list of future topics, the Oprah site page had “Is Jim McGreevey a role model to you?” He helps her kick off her new season on Tuesday. He’s promoting his book and talking about having had a wife — and a boyfriend. At the same time. Personally, I wish she’d scheduled someone like Harvey Fierstein and have her website invite viewer comments with “Is Harvey Fierstein a role model to you?” He stayed true to himself and worked to change hearts and minds in a positive way. And he’s a fun guest. But that’s just me.

BTW, did anyone catch the premiere of MEN IN TREES on ABC? That’s the sitcom starring Anne Heche. The show is sort of NORTHERN EXPOSURE meets SEX IN THE CITY minus three chatty white chicks. I don’t know if I smell hit show, but it’s a great vehicle for Heche. She is a very good actress. Unfortunately, most people mainly remember when she played a lesbian while dating Ellen DeGeneres for a while. That publicty kind of eclipsed her film work. Now she’s happily married. To a guy. Let’s wish her luck. With the show. Tell your friends about my blog. I crave attention.
