Couldn't agree with you more, Bobby. Your insight is keen as a bloodhound, with Ms.Hepburn breaking her own Hollywood mold and image. Showing her depth as an Actress and not just a pretty face. she was a power house. "Breakfast at Tiffany's", is an early upscale version of "Midnight Cowboy", from a country girls point of view. Remember the Hunting Harmonic like melody of "Everybody's Talking at Me"? And Joe Buck's empty dream caught by dazzle of NYC LIghts. Nice piece, and tribute to an Actress who truly was a national treasure.

I was born in the mid 60s and missed out on this generation in film. Breakfast at Tiffany's is woven deeply into our cultural fabric, I've heard it referred to so often over the years but was never drawn to see it. Your in depth analysis has indeed piqued my interest. I'm intrigued by the movie's role as a cultural barometer. Thank you for writing this thought provoking piece.

Bobby,

I found this article to be very informative and well written. Of course, the mild humor drizzled throughout made it even more enjoyable to read ... Many blogs are drab and boring .. but this kept my interest as a reader and educated me as Audrey Hepburn was well before my time ;)

Looking forward to reading more blogs ;)

I am so happy to have found your blog!! My daughters and I have loved your work for along time.

I am so sorry you have been job hunting. It can be so demoralizing. I am a nurse and I have a Master's degree and I couldn't even get an interview. I have started my own consulting business as a result, which is rewarding but slow. But I am optimistic!

Wonderful reflection on Lena Horne, by the way.

I wish you much luck. The right thing will come along in its own time.

You've been bookmarked, my Dear! I look forward to more thoughtful, well written insights from you..I blogged daily for over two years just to see if I could do it. I did, then the site tanked. I should get back to it- you have just added a little inspiration! thanks!

Thanks, Bobby. What a great piece and fantastic food for thought for brunch. Ms. Horne was a goddess. I clearly need to pick up James Gavin's book about her.
